Emily Helen (Laricks) Heinstrom, 86, of Pompano Beach, passed away on September 16, 2019 in Fort Lauderdale, FL.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 3:00 pm Sunday, September 22 in the small chapel at Calvary Chapel Fort Lauderdale.
Emily was born in North Wildwood, NJ to Lorenzo and Marie Laricks on February 23, 1933. She went to Wildwood High School in Wildwood, NJ. She married Harry Wood in November 1957 in Wildwood Crest, NJ. They came to Fort Lauderdale on their honeymoon and never left. They built a home here and had two children, Harry and Wendy. She worked as a secretary for various companies over the years. She was actively involved in her children's girl scout and cub scout activities, served as a Sunday school teacher at St. Andrews United Methodist Church, and was a member of the Moose Lodge. She was an avid Miami Dolphins fan, loved to read and encouraged others with cards and letters and loved collecting things! She married Frank in 1979 and was widowed in 1997.
Emily is preceded in death by her sister, Dorothy Lorraine French.
Emily is survived by her children, Harry Ashton Wood III and Wendy Beth (Wood) Lane and her husband, Chris. Her siblings: Anna Marie Conaway, Betty Jane Klott, Ethel Mae Hewitt, and Lawrence Andrew Laricks and his wife, Maryanne. Many nieces and nephews. Her grandchildren: Joshua Christopher Lane, Jacob Ashton Lane, Jonathan Charles Lane, and Josiah Edward Lane.
A celebration of life will be held at 3:00 on Sunday, September 22 in the small chapel at Calvary Chapel Fort Lauderdale, 2401 W Cypress Creek Road in Fort Lauderdale.
