Insurance adjuster in 1983.
Eric will be missed. Eric will be remembered in our hearts.
I worked for Len Bernard, and Eric was on our floor at Carey Dwyer in Ft. Lauderdale. He was a helpful, caring and kind man, and he obviously enjoyed every moment of life. I remember that he always had a smile. He was clearly an outstanding attorney. Saying prayers for his family, friends and colleagues. May the Peace of Christ bring you comfort during this difficult, sad season of life. This tragedy reminds all of us to be thankful for each day.
My heart is heavy, yet I know we will all be together again.god bless.God bless.Nathan
A Great Fun-Loving Man
I knew Eric for over 33 years--I spent 2 terms at Peterson Bernard. He was a force of nature and one of the most dynamic people I have ever met. As a young attorney, I learned a great deal from him about the real world practice of law. We shared a birthday, and I always heard from him on October 4. His passing leaves a void in our local legal community.
Eric was a delight to be associated with during the Blockbuster days. He was a kind, caring person who enriched the lives of those who came to know him. Our heartfelt condolences to Moira and Shane.
Wanda and I were greatly saddened to hear of Eric's untimely death. We remember him as a generous and upbeat gentleman who was full of life. Our hearts, thoughts and prayers go out to Moria. We so enjoyed hearing about their elopement more than 50 years ago.
I worked for the firm of Peterson & Bernard as a temporary, fill-in assistant/secretary for many years. It was always one of my favorite places to work. I met Mr. Peterson several times over the years and he always treated me cordially and with respect. I cannot sufficiently express my sadness of his loss. To his family and his family at Peterson Bernard my deep condolences.
You left us too soon dear brother-in-law. You were a wonderful husband to my sister and I know life won’t be the same without you. I’ll remember your laugh which was always contagious, and the good man everyone knew.
May you be joined now with Josh and you both are laughing your way together in heaven.
You left me too soon buddy but I am left with some wonderful memories. I know the dynamics of Heaven are dramatically different now that you are there.
R.I.P. buddy. I’ll see you again someday.P.S. I hope they don’t let you drive up there. Lol. Randy Bob
To Eric's immediate family and all the attorneys and staff at Peterson Bernard, So sorry for your loss. Eric reached into the lives of so many and enriched us all with his spirit for life, his kind-hearted friendship, and his highly ethical approach to business and the legal profession. He was simply a wonderful human being and we will miss him dearly.
Caught this photo of Eric cruising along the ICW in his Scarab first weekend of March...after he had just hosted a Florida Powerboat Club afternoon BBQ party at his Key Largo home the weekend earlier. I can't find to words to express this loss for all of us.. Such an energetic, spirited and friendly person...he was a role model for so many of us including myself! So sad to see you leave us Eric, We will miss you dearly!
As your next door neighbor for 17 years, were were like Brothers. You were a tower among men and treated everyone as your new best friend. Your enthusiasm for life and generosity will be missed by all those who knew you. My family is just devastated. Rest in peace my friend.
Eric and I sat next to each other at a luncheon a few years ago. Although I frequently dealt with other members of his firm before retiring from insurance claims, that was my only contact with Eric. It was a memorable lunch-I found him utterly charming.
